This material, enamel cast iron, has been used for cookware and large pots for around 200 years. Currently, it is still sold in this market, but it slowly being taken over by modern alloys, but I still think that this type of material is the best one for cooking a really tasty meal. But what is enamel cast iron?

This is why it is still being used today, because you can really get some nice artwork on the side of these items. This is something that you can’t achieve with alloy cookware, which is currently flooding the market.

In the end, enamel cast iron will slowly be lost as a material for our cookware, but the traditional restaurants will probably keep using it, because of the classic feel these items provide with. In any case, if you find enamel cast iron you need to know that it is better to use it for cooking.
